Our Group
NETEP History:
Northeast Tennessee Emergency Physicians (NETEP) was founded in 1985 and has grown to a team of more than 70 professionals, including physicians and mid level practitioners. In partnership with Wellmont Health Care System, NETEP provides emergent care through the emergency departments at 2 major regional tertiary hospitals and starting in December 2011 at 4 smaller rural emergency departments. In our 2 tertiary facilities our group is principally composed of emergency trained, board certified/eligible physicians and state licensed NPs/Pas. With well over 100 years of combined experience in the field of emergency medicine and trauma care, NETEP has as outstanding relationship with the medical/allied health community, hospital administration and the public at large. Guided by ACEP standards of practice, NETEP is recognized as the area’s leader in emergency medicine practice with a level one and two trauma rating for our tertiary Emergency Departments.
Group members hale from a wide geographic area and have trained at multiple prestigious residency programs. The diversity of our partners combined with a democratic style of leadership has established a firm foundation for continued growth, as well as high satisfaction rates among group members. Many of our newly recruited physicians have come to us from recommendations of existing members encouraging their friends and former residency colleagues to relocate here. The composition of the group is a mix of founding group members and newly graduated residents in emergency medicine.
Leadership:
NETEP is a physician owned private corporation. There are three elected group officers: President, Vice-President and Secretary/Treasurer. All group members are encouraged to actively participate in group governance.
